(More customer reviews)Sugar has changed the way they make these, and not for the better. I had a pair of floaties a few years ago and LOVED them. They were super comfortable, light, squishy, etc. I loved putting them on after coming home from working the whole day on my feet. The main problem with them was they would crack (Sugar provided "band-aids" to cover the cracks), and I eventually had to throw them out.
After years without them, I finally got a new pair and they arrived in the mail today. I am REALLY disappointed because:
1. Fit. Sugar used to make Floaties in only three sizes: small (5-6), medium (7-8), and large (9-10). My previous pair were medium and fit just fine. This time I ordered size 8 just to be safe, and.... they're too small! My feet have not grown and I actually went down a size in Converse, so Sugar must have made the size 8 floaties smaller than their previous medium (7-8) size. And despite being too short for my feet, the straps are too loose.
2. Comfort. Ignoring the whole loose strap issue, the floaties aren't nearly as comfortable as my previous pair. You don't sink right into them at all. They are still OK, but they don't even compare to my last pair.
3. Weight. These floaties are MUCH heavier than my old pair. They must be using a denser foam (which consequently appears to take away from comfort as well).
Bottom line: If these flip flops were as comfortable as the original floaties I would consider looking past the fit and weight issue and just exchange for a new size. However, it appears that Sugar has completely changed the floatie material (maybe to cut costs?) at the expense of comfort. That's really too bad because they HAD a unique product.
