It kind of blends in with my skin tone and helps to keep my legs from looking "cut off" (I am short so this is a factor for me). They are very light with moderate arch support. These are more comfortable since it is not really a thong sandal. I did have a bit of a problem getting the straps to fit around a bony area that pokes out on the side of my foot under my little toe. Once adjusted the sandals have stayed in place. I do not regret the purchase.
